ART 301 World Art (3 credits)
The main objective of this course is to introduce students to the historical, economic, artistic, social and religious parts of Seville through its important and several monuments. Students will study about the monuments and works of art significant in relation to global art.
The actual city will be the main guideline of this course. In each class meeting students will study various artistic-architectural points of interest. Students will also be able to appreciate the cultural impact that many other cultures have left behind in the city throughout its history.
LAB FEE: Students will have to pay 80€ to cover all entry fees during the visits.
MGT 360 International Management (3 Credits) - NEW COURSE FOR SUMMER 2026!
Through this course, students will be introduced to the opportunities and challenges corporations face when doing business internationally and identify strategies and practices to manage effectively in a global environment. In particular, students will be exposed to, and encouraged to critically think about, international management topics such as the global business environment, ethics and corporate social responsibility, culture, international strategy and entry, organizational behavior across cultures, and international human resource management issues. In the end, students develop an understanding of, and appreciation for, culture and its impact on management and strategies for managing in a complex, global environment.
MGT/MKT 301 Business Communication (3 credits) - NEW COURSE FOR SUMMER 2026!
This course explores different genres of written and oral communication employed in the business environment. Emphasis is placed on utilizing communication strategies that are tailored to both the audience and the organizational context in which the communication takes place. The ethical implications of communication within a business environment are also considered. This course develops a process approach to writing, which moves from planning through revision and final editing in producing business-related documents. Students are also introduced to communication techniques that enhance productivity within groups as well as develop the ability to write as a team and create presentations that flow seamlessly.

ESS 349 Psychology of Coaching Competitive Athletics (2 credits)
Aids the prospective coach to better understand the application of psychological concepts to the coaching of sports. Emphasis will be on the methods of improving the performance of athletes through a better understanding of the factors affecting teaching and learning in athletics.
Prerequisite: junior standing.
ESS 460 Sports Nutrition and the Mediterranean Diet (3 credits) - Only session II / - NEW COURSE FOR SUMMER 2026!
Study the components of the Mediterranean diet and how this diet is able to reduce the risk of chronic diseases (obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer). Study of the role of nutrition and the Mediterranean diet in physical performance and health. Specific regimens applicable to athletes/personal fitness programs, ranging from the training diet to fluid, electrolyte and glycogen replacement.

S-05 Initiation to the Practice of Flamenco Through Rhythm, Dance, Singing and Guitar (3 credits)
Explore flamenco as both an art form and a vibrant expression of Andalusian identity, history, and spirit. This course delves into the interconnection between song (cante), dance (baile), and guitar (toque), tracing flamenco’s roots to the blending of Moorish, Jewish, Roma, and indigenous Andalusian traditions. Students will learn about the rhythmic language, improvisation, and cultural significance that define flamenco, gaining insight into its unique performance practices and deep emotional resonance.

Discover the rich diversity of Spain—its regions, people, and traditions—shaped by centuries of history, culture, and geography. This course offers an open and critical overview of modern Spain, examining the country’s economic, social, and environmental challenges in the context of globalization, urbanization, and tourism. Through press articles, videos, reports, and presentations, students will explore how Spain’s regional identities and current issues reflect its dynamic and complex reality.

SPA 103 Spanish in a Global Society I & II (4 Credits)
SPA 103 El Español en una Sociedad Global I y II (4 Créditos) – Course syllabus in Spanish
In this course the student will begin and develop their learning of Spanish as second language.
Through an active and playful methodology the student will begin to interact and communicate in Spanish. The student will realize the advantages of living in Seville to interact and learn specific vocabulary in an easy and efficient way.
Prerequisite: No prior knowledge of Spanish required.
SPA 201 Spanish Language and Cultures in Action I (4 Credits)
SPA 201 Lengua y Culturas Españolas en Acción I (4 Créditos) – Course syllabus in Spanish
The main objective of the course is for students to be capable of understanding frequently used expressions and phrases related to an area of expertise where they are relevant. They will know how to communicate simple ideas and their daily routines that don´t require more than an easy exchange of information on matters that are common to them.
Students will know how to describe basic actions in the past and their surroundings as well as any matter related to an immediate need.
Prerequisite: 3 years of high-school Spanish or 2 semesters of college-level Spanish.
SPA 202 Spanish Language and Cultures in Action II (4 Credits)
SPA 202 Lengua y Culturas Españolas en Acción II (4 Créditos) – Course syllabus in Spanish
Students in this course are capable of understanding the main topics in texts and in spoken Spanish if they have knowledge on the topic of the conversation- whether it´s work-related, school-related or socially related.
Students will know how to handle most situations where Spanish will be used. Students will be able to write simple and coherent texts on topics that are familiar to them or of personal interest. Students will be able to describe experiences, events, wishes and ambitions as well as explaining their opinions and plans.
Students with a good level of Spanish may take SPAN 2040 and SPAN 3050 concurrently.
Prerequisite: 4 years of high-school Spanish or 3 semesters of college-level Spanish.
SPA 221 Spanish for Healthcare Professional (3 Credits)
SPA 221 Introducción al Español para Profesionales de la Salud (3 Créditos) – Course Syllabus in Spanish
The student will improve their oral and written skills for effective communication in Spanish in the health field. The student will gain more confidence in interactions with patients. Student participation and reflection on sociocultural and intercultural aspects is important.
Prerequisite: 3 semesters of college-level Spanish.

SPA 371 Business Spanish (3 Credits)
SPA 371 Español de Negocios (3 Créditos) – Course Syllabus in Spanish
The main objective of the course is for the student to acquire lexical and functional knowledge related to the business world to function in the Hispanic business world. To do this, emphasis will be placed on the specific terms used in different areas and on cultural elements.
Prerequisite: 3 semesters of college-level Spanish.

Spanish Language and Culture I (3 credits)
Designed for students with little prior knowledge of Spanish, this course builds the skills needed to communicate confidently in everyday situations during their stay in Seville. Alongside language instruction, students gain essential cultural insights to help them integrate into Spanish life. Taking full advantage of the study-abroad experience, the course includes guided out-of-class activities that enhance both linguistic and intercultural competence. By the end of the course, students will reach an A2/B1.1 level (high beginner to low intermediate) according to the CEFR.
Prerequisite: 3 years of high-school Spanish or 2 semesters of college-level Spanish.
Spanish Language and Culture II (3 credits)
This intensive three-week course is designed for students with at least three semesters of university-level Spanish. Focusing on building confidence and fluency for daily life and social interaction in Seville, the course expands grammatical knowledge and communicative competence through a fully immersive cultural experience. Using a communicative, task-based approach, students engage in experiential learning that includes co-curricular activities and field trips, promoting both linguistic and intercultural development. When possible, team projects incorporate elements of Challenge-Based Learning and Design Thinking.
Prerequisite: 4 years of high-school Spanish or 3 semesters of college-level Spanish.
Spanish Language and Culture III (3 credits)
Designed for students with a strong foundation in Spanish, this course deepens language skills through the study of Spain’s history and culture as reflected in its literature, music, visual arts, and architecture. Experiential learning, including out-of-class activities during class time, promotes both linguistic and intercultural competence. By the end of the course, students will reach a B2.2/C1.1 level (mid/high advanced) according to the CEFR.
Prerequisite: 4 semesters of college-level Spanish.
