FAQ Rowing
What do I bring/wear to practice?
Wear athletic clothes, spandex, running shoes, hat, sunglasses. Bring a full refillable water bottle, and don't forget your sunscreen!
How intense is the training?
The training is challenging, one session on the water and one in the gym from Mo-Fri. Your Spanish coach will provide you with a weight program to do during the week.
What boats do you usually row in at Club Náutico?
The team rows in a variety of boats, there are opportunities to sweep in 8s, 4s or pairs, or scull in a single, doubles or a quad, this usually depends on how many athletes there are at the session. However, for this program you will mostly row in 4s or quads but, please note, it will depend on the number of participants.
Will I do weights?
The coach will provide a program to do for the 2 weeks you are here.
Will I be able to use the gym throughout the program?

Does the gym have ERG and bike machines?
Yes
Is the coaching in Spanish or English?
The Coaches at the rowing club have experience coaching international rowers and have knowledge of English. Also all participants before they arrive are sent a pre-departure package which will contain useful rowing vocabulary for your practice.
What is the weather like during June/July?
This time of year is very hot in Seville, in the day the weather averages 90's ºF and sometimes reaches 100's ºF. Bring cool clothing.
How far are the training facilities from the Spanihs homes?
All students will live no far than a 10-40 minute walk to the Rowing club
How much money will I spend on transportation to training?
In the case you are not in walking distance and you have to cath a bus to trainings you will not spend more than $40 for the entire program. Around the city they are also bikes and motor electric scooters that can be use for a small fee (great to move around the city for students). The city of Seville has a great bike lane.
