SOCCER ELITE PROGRAM

What makes this Soccer Program "Elite" and different to other Soccer Camps in Spain?

  • Participants will join a team of young elite professional Spanish soccer players who are doing their pre-season practice.
  • Partcipants train the same way as proffessional Spanish soccer players would do to prepare for their season ahead.
  • To offer our soccer elite program, at SAIIE we work with some of the best professionals in the world of soccer . They are coaches, physical trainers, doctors, nutritionists, physical therapists and analysts that have working experience with soccer teams from the Spanish professional soccer tournament “La Liga” and the English soccer tournament Premier League.

Please note: Those players that stand out will have the possibility of being drafted by a Spanish youth team from "La Liga" and continue their studies the following year in Spain.

How does it work?

  1. Through this soccer program, all students that participate will be placed on a team which will be completed with Spanish soccer players of their age range for the period of two weeks. Students might be moved up or down depending on their level to practice with one group or another.

  2. The health of the athletes is our number one concern, and because of this before starting their soccer training, each athlete will go through a fitness testing to evaluate their condition in a High-Performance Center in Seville.

  3. After the fitness test, the students will be joining a group of 23/25 soccer players (Maximum 15 players from abroad and the rest of the players will be from Spanish teams). Each team will have a coach, assistant coach and a physical trainer.

  4. During their time in Seville, students will participate in a preseason soccer camp and they will be treated just as professional soccer players would be. As part of their preseason camp, there is a team trip to a beach in Portugal for a few days to train, gym activity as a complement to the soccer practices, a personal training conducted at the High-Performance Center, and friendly matches against other Spanish teams.

  5. After the Soccer camp is over, each student-athlete will receive a personalised data sheet which will help each of them improve their skills in the future.

Soccer Program Includes:

  • Fitness test.
  • 2 weeks of training.
  • Coached by professional coaches with experience working with "La Liga" professional soccer players.
  • 5 weekly training sessions, depending on activities and matches.
  • 2 Friendly matches against Spanish soccer teams.
  • Gym membership.
  • Trainings at a High Performance Center.
  • Day trip to the beach with training.
  • Personalised data sheet.
  • Training kits.

Soccer Elite Program Requirements

Due to the fact that the participants on this program will be training with the local youth Spanish players belonging to semi and professional teams of La Liga, all participants must be training back home on a soccer varsity, high school or club team and have a minimum condition to be able to enjoy the program and take advantage of this unique experience. We will also need a form completed by your last football coach.

ACCOMMODATION

All students participating in our program are placed in carefully screened Spanish homes. Living in a Spanish home is one of the most important aspects of the students’ intercultural experience because it helps to improve language skills and increase cultural awareness, two key goals of the program.

The principal goals of increased fluency in the language and greater familiarity with the culture are an integral element of the experience that SAIIE strives to provide.

SPANISH FAMILIES
All Spanish families are made up of a married couple with children, a divorced or widowed woman with children, or a family with some members living at home and others living outside the home. All students will receive their host family information 3 weeks PRIOR TO ARRIVAL in Seville.

ROOMMATES
In this program, all students are housed with other students studying abroad at SAIIE. Each student will have 1 to 2 roommates.

LOCATION
We place all students within reasonable distances from the SAIIE centre and the football facilties where they will be training.

MEALS
Meals from Sunday dinner to Friday lunch are included in the program costs.  For those days that a trip has been scheduled with the program, the family will prepare a packed meal. Naturally, adjustments with regard to customs, food, and heat must be anticipated by the students. SAIIE does take dietary and other personal restrictions into consideration when assigning students to their host family.

WI-FI
Internet will be available in all homes.

LAUNDRY
Each student is allowed 1 load of laundry per week, which is washed by the host family.

Please note:

Spanish laws oblige every company or person working with minors to have an official criminal record certificate proving that they are not included in the register of Sex Offenders throughout the European territory, so both SAIIE and our families have this certificate endorsed by the Spanish Ministry of Justice.

For more information on housing, please contact the SAIIE Director, Samantha Chipres at samanthac@saiie.com

Sean Chipres
Program Manager
E-mail:
seanrc@saiie.com

Sean Chipres graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Platteville with honors in an International Studies degree.

Prior to his studies in the US, he had received his entire education in Seville, Spain. He is fluent in Spanish, English and French.

He began to work for the Spanish-American Institute of International Education in 2001. Sean has worked in several departments at the program (Student Affairs, Planning and Development, Athletic Programs, etc).

In 2007 he become the Program Manager and has developed many new programs (FLP, Athletic Programs and High School Program).

Sean is the High School coordinator for all of our programs.

His biggest passions include travelling and meeting new people from around the world.

“I love my job and international education. The most gratifying part of my job is to see how students evolved throughout their study abroad experience and how they turned into new people after their experience is over, and to know that we played a big part in it”.

Samantha Chipres
Director
E-mail: samanthac@saiie.com

Samantha is the youngest of four, following her brother's steps in education: went to the French School where she graduated from High School to later jumping into the American system through SAIIE to finally graduating with a Bachelors degree in International Studies from UW-Platteville.

In 2007 she began working in SAIIE as Assistant Student Affairs. In 2010, she became the Student Affairs Director; amongst her duties, she organised excursions and cultural activities, served as the 24/7 emergency contact for all students, placed students with corresponding households and roommates, carefully selected host families through a comprehensive interview process and arranged contracts.

In 2016, Samantha moved to London to continue her education and pursued her Master's Degree in International Business at the Regent's University of London.

With her new role as Director back in SAIIE, her responsibilities are to continue helping in the Student Affairs department, as well as to work with the Planning and Development department in the decision-making process for upcoming projects, developing new strategies and ideas to improve our services for the students and to create potential partnerships with U.S. universities.

"My number one passion is to travel to different parts of the world and getting to know their culture. To be able to be a small part of an unforgettable experience such as studying abroad is an honour. Seeing the students sad to leave Seville and us at the end of the semester means that we have done our job to show them that this city and this program are special".
